The EISA or 'Expert Imaging and Sound Association' is a consortium of 61 different consumer electronics publications spread across 30 different countries including the US, Canada, Australia, Japan and India.
The chief role of this committee is to deliver independent technical reviews of the very best new products in consumer technology throughout the year, building to the annual EISA awards which celebrates the most influential products across six key groups: photography, mobile devices, Hi-Fi, home theatre audio, home theatre display video, in-car electronics.
In this year’s awards (2019), we are thrilled to observe two SCV distributed products which were deemed worthy of EISA's incredibly prestigious awards, both within the Hi-Fi category.
Focal Elegia
(Best Product - Headphones)Released at the very beginning of the 2019, the Elegia is Focal’s very first closed-back circum-aural audiophile headphone. Harnessing a number of Focal’s specialist in-house technologies including their M-profile driver, frameless voice coil and ultra-fine surround.
Elegia was presented with EISA’s Best Headphone Product and praised for its high performance and compatibility with different sources, wide frequency range and noise excluding properties for listening in less-than-ideal environments.
A great listen, and comfortable to wear, whether at home or on the move.

IsoAcoustics GAIA
(Best Product - HiFi Upgrade)Making their first appearance on the EISA Award stage, Canadian manufacturer IsoAcoustics were awarded Best Product in EISA’s Hi-Fi Upgrade category for their GAIA decoupling isolators for use with floor standing Hi-Fi loudspeakers.
GAIA are designed to replace factory spikes and allow speakers to float in free space through a patented decoupling design that reduces upward reflections from the speaker’s underlying surface.
We all know the value of isolation when it comes to getting the best from hi-fi electronics, but until you hear IsoAcoustics’ GAIAs in action, you’ll never know how much this applies to speakers, too.
In particular, EISA praised the GAIA’s ability to lower the noise floor, improve soundstaging, and tighten up the lower end of musical material.
