The GAIA Solution
Over the past 6 months IsoAcoustics' GAIA isolators have accrued notable interest in the floor-standing speaker market, yielding rave reviews from the likes of Hi-Fi Choice and Hi-Fi Pig.
For those of you unfamiliar with the line, GAIA is an innovative range of isolating stand attachments designed for floor-standing speakers installed by replacing the removable thread spikes on the speaker's bottom plate.
The GAIA product was developed as a solution to tackle the secondary reflections caused when speakers are placed on flat surfaces. Any misinformation from secondary reflections shared between both left and right channels becomes centred, causing a phenomenon known as 'smear' which damages the sound-stage. IsoAcoustics' patented technology inside each carefully-machined GAIA unit is designed to resist lateral movement and oscillations, maintaining the listening position of each speaker whilst reducing smear to boost clarity.
Each of the three GAIA models currently on the market is assigned an approximate-weight rating to help users pick the best match for their specific speakers:

Time To Accessorise?
Whilst the three available models cater for a large majority of the floor-standing Hi-Fi speaker market, a number of specific brands feature a more bespoke spike fitting, making them incompatible with the standard threads included with each GAIA set.
In an effort to broaden their scope and make the benefits of GAIA available to as many people as possible, IsoAcoustics have taken the opportunity to introduce 15 new thread sizes to cater for brands such as Monitor Audio, Martin Logan and Wilson Audio. And There's More!
For Bowers & Wilkins owners, IsoAcoustics have developed a unique adaptor plate specifically for the 800 D3 Series loudspeakers. The fixture is designed to replace the underside wheels of the D3 to provide full support for the GAIA I isolators. For previous 800 series models, a legacy adaptor is also available.

IsoAcoustics have also produced carpet spike attachments for GAIA I, II and III models designed for users with particularly thick pile carpets. Whilst the spikes offer even more support, it's important to mention that the isolating technology resides exclusively within the GAIA units themselves, and no extra decoupling effects are yielded from the spike attachments.
