Today we are thrilled to announce that from 1st October 2024 SCV Distribution has been acquired Sound Service GmbH.
Sound Service is a pan-European distribution company based in Berlin and has been a successful player in the market for over 40 years. Since 2022 and as a result of Brexit, Sound Service has been operating the independent company ‘Sound Service MSL Distribution LTD’ (Sound Service UK).
SCV Distribution Ltd is an esteemed and experienced distributor of an exclusive range of prestigious, professional and consumer audio brands (e.g. Focal, Audix, Meze, Triangle) imported from all over the world, predominantly to its network of loyal retail partners across the UK and Ireland.
We are all elated to be joining forces with Sound Service UK. Our brand portfolios align perfectly in a harmonious blend of MI, Pro Audio, Home Audio, CE and Installed Sound offerings. With a shared ethos for delivering a seamless and unparalleled client experience, our merged specialist sales and support teams will be dedicated to providing the very highest level of service for our customer and supplier partners alike.
This is a significant expansion and these are extremely exciting times for us all at Sound Service Distribution. Our SCV team remains largely in place and we join together now with the existing Sound Service MSL Distribution staff to form one entity. The premises and operations are scaling up and we are all focussed on a shared mission to drive sales growth throughout our channels with an incredible combined product portfolio.

SCV Chairman Andrew Stirling is departing the business and also Garry Robson is retiring from the Company. We are hugely thankful for both Andrew and Garry’s years of service to both SCV and the industry as a whole and wish them both the very best in the future. SCV Director Matthew Esau is remaining with the new company and continues to head up our rapidly growing HiFi Division.
Sound Service has been operating successfully in the UK for several years now. However, we want to strategically expand our presence and our customer base. A merger with SCV Distribution was therefore a logical step, as they have outstanding brands as well as outstanding and experienced staff in the UK. In addition, we now have access to our own warehouse and our own service department. Previously, we were dependent on service providers or had to take the cumbersome route via our warehouse in Germany. The addition of SCV has made us more independent and enables us to serve our UK customers even better and more efficiently.
Sound Service always tries to stand on several pillars in order to be represented as broadly as possible in the market and to cope with the ups and downs of individual segments. Like us, SCV Distribution is active in the pro audio sector, but also in the home audio / hi-fi sector; a market segment in which we also want to expand. This segment expands our brand portfolio and opens up new growth opportunities for us. We now have a very balanced and diversified sales portfolio in the UK, which we want to gradually expand in all European countries in which we are active.
I look forward to a successful future, working with Ian Young as well as with my new colleagues in the UK. Our pan-European distribution idea will be filled with even more content through SCV and will lead to maximum success.
