Lovingly modelled from multiple calibrated Distressors from top producers such as Andy Sneap (Megadeth) and Rob Ruccia (Arista Records), the FG-Stress Compressor accurately reproduces the behaviour of the Empirical Labs EL8-X Studio Compressor - an dynamic processor which has previously been known as notoriously difficult to emulate.
Leaving no stone unturned, FG-Stress recreates 1:1 warming mode, the all-button mode affectionately known as the “Nuke” setting, and each ratio, curve and character that makes the EL8-X unique.
Guitars can be boosted with tube-like distortion, vocals can be either smoothed or shaken, bass guitars fattened up, and room microphones can be crushed for almost limitless sonic possibilities. So faithful is the FG-Stress to the original EL8-X that it has also earned an endorsement from original EL creator Dave Derr.
