Featuring proportional Q curves and a very familiar saturation flavour, the FG-A Vintage Equaliser from Slate Digital recreates one of the industry’s most revered “track-sweetening” filter tools.
FG-A expands on the 3-band architecture of vintage American EQs by doubling up the mid band, resulting in four bands of tone sculpting possibilities. When combined with the FG-As unstepped controls via the modifier key, FG-A presents a near-unlimited range of variable filtering options.
Colour and vibe can be added with op-amp emulation engaged. Or for more focused and surgical adjustments, op-amp emulation can be bypassed to disable non linear behaviour and clean filtering up.
