Slate Digital’s Virtual Buss Compressor (VBC) plug in bundle includes FG-GREY for Classic British console compression, FG-RED for the revered red-faced compressor (most notably prized by Mix LA’s Chris Lord-Alge) and FG-MU which skilfully emulates the Fairchild 670 “holy grail” model.
Each vintage compressor unit has been analysed, tested and then meticulously modelled to achieve an authentic software recreation perfect for the modern DAW. Even finer details such as nonlinear characteristics of transformers, harmonics, phase distortion and amplification circuits have been painstakingly studied to deliver the classic mix buss tones that top engineers turn to again and again.
