"The Channel One has evolved, and the result is one of the most versatile channel strips around"
SPL's Channel One Mk3 strip seeks to serve as the ultimate front-end to modern DAWs. A discrete tube preamp section offers two microphone input circuits with all the polarity and phantom power trimmings that any engineer could desire. Inputs are then fed to a 3-band equaliser , fully dynamic compressor/limiter, noise gate and even a de-esser section, all housed within one seamless strip.
Specially optimised for vocals, acoustic sources and electric instruments, Channel One Mk3 is also furnished with high-impedance inputs as well as a direct-injection jack to cater for electric and bass guitars respectively.
Building on the legacy of its predecessors, the Mk3 incarnation of Channel One also incorporates an integrated Transient Designer circuit directly from SPL's revered transient shaping processor. Additionally a tube saturation stage has been added to control the amount of colour imposed on incoming analogue signals, and a microphone A/B switch function is now on hand to easily compare inputs on the fly.
For an all-in-one studio channel tracking experience that delivers incredibly polished results, Channel One Mk3 truly in a class of its own.
Armed with low, mid-hi and Air bands, Channel One Mk3's EQ section is primed for surgical corrective adjustments as well as more general sound shaping before the signal hits the DAW.
Compared to previous revision, the Mk3 Channel One features a revamped circuit with a higher internal audio voltage of +/-18V enabling more headroom and even more detailed sound.
