SPL present a compact 2-channel version of their acclaimed Crescendo 8-way preamplifier. Crescendo Duo inherits all the per-channel functionality and sparkle that makes it’s larger sibling unique, sized down into a handy 2U 19” rack space.
ETA 1-2 WEEKS
- Two channel analogue preamp based on Crescendo
- Virtually impossible to overdrive thanks to 120V tech
- Independent control of input and output gain for tracking
- Dual parallel outputs per channel
- +48v phantom power
- Switchable 20dB pad
- Large dual VU meter display
As with the larger Crescendo, each individual preamp channel is allocated its own independent controls including 48V phantom power, a switchable high-pass filter to eliminate low-noise rumble, reversible polarity and a 20dB pad.
Individual control of microphone gain and output gain is also on offer, enabling users to amplify signal as necessary without wasting any dBs between the input stage and the listener.
For applications requiring multiple output feeds, SPL have implemented two parallel outputs per channel to route to different outboard options or even to back-up inputs.
The Crescendo features two large VU meters perfect for getting real-time insight into levels. For measuring even higher dynamic levels, a drop switch can also be engaged to bring the VU’s focus range down by 10dB. Crescendo Duo is a perfect compact introduction to SPL’s 120V enabled preamp range and works as an ideal partner for demanding stereo sources as well as mono vocals and instruments.
SPL’s goal when designing the Crescendo range was to create a preamplifier virtually immune to overdriving. Thanks to their proprietary 120V technology, this is now possible. Boasting an absurd level of headroom, the Crescendo Duo can offer absolute fidelity and clarity during recording allowing any source’s true character to shine through.
