Mercury is a pristine stereo digital to analogue converter designed specifically for mastering applications. Powered by SPL’s 120V technology, Mercury aims to meet exceed the technological and tonal benchmarks that mastering houses demand.
ETA 1-2 WEEKS
- Mastering specific AD converter
- SPL 120V high-headroom technology
- AES, SPDIF, TOSLINK and USB connectivity
- Pristine AKM Velvet Sound AD chip
- Dual stereo analogue outputs
- Monitor controllable secondary output
The I/O offerings of Mercury total seven different digital inputs including AES, SPDIF, TOSLINK and USB. Conversion duties are handled by AKM’s revered Velvet Sound chip technology and are capable of up to 768kHz 32-bit resolution as well as Direct Stream Digital up to DSD4.
Mercury is the first DA mastering converter to include SPL’s proprietary 120V technology, utilising what SPL proudly refer to DLP120: dual low-pass filters in 120v tech. This configuration greatly increases dynamic range and headroom, whilst each filter is also optimised for PCM and DSD playback standards.
Mercury also includes two sets of analogue stereo outputs on the rear panel for monitoring and routing purposes. One set cam be calibrated to all major reference levels (14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 dBu @ 0dBFS), whilst the other is analogue controllable, serving as the perfect tool for live monitor volume control without degrading bit depth in the process.
