For a full decade Avantone's MixCubes have been known for two stand-out qualities: having equal height, depth and width measurements and - more importantly - offering a unique insight into studio mixes which optimises music for playback on consumer audio devices (think iPhones, radios and in-ear headphones). The MixCube speakers have been an unprecedented hit, and are used in both stereo and mono configurations in studios the world over. More recently, Avantone have also introduced the MP1 MixPhone headphones to provide a more portable mixing tool perfect for use outside the studio.
Up till now MixCubes have been available in Gloss Black and Cream finishes, but to celebrate 10 years of superior mixing, Avantone have released a limited edition MixCube model featuring a striking Ferrari Red finish, plus an all-black heatsink on the rear amp module panel.
The MixPhone range is also being treated to an extension, with Avantone announcing a brand new Black edition of the MP1. The Black MixPhones feature the same great materials and the built-in switching option between Stereo, Mono and Mix modes, but with an elegantly dark visual aesthetic that matches almost any studio engineer clothing fashion one might care to dabble in.
